Centre for Thanatology
At the Center for Thanatology researchers linked from various disciplines, including anthropology, ethics, psychology, religious studies and history skills. This diverse research group is multidisciplinary research into possible personal, social and cultural aspects of dying, death and bereavement. Particular attention is paid to rites and religious dimensions of dealing with death and dying. The Faculty of Religious Studies in this area have expertise related to religions such as Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and various indigenous religions. The problem of death is central to many religions, once the center has a strong research interest in non-institutionalized religion and notions of religiosity of unchurched moving into new ritualization of death to discern.
